SD Farm Bureau Elects Officers

Wanda Blair of Vale was re-elected Vice-President of the South Dakota Farm Bureau during the organization’s recent annual meeting in Spearfish.  Blair, who ranches with her husband, Ed, has served as SDFB Vice-President since November 2004.

Delegates re-elected four members to the SDFB Board of Directors: 
Bob Ode, Brandon, SD
Russ Hurlbert, Raymond, SD
Don Kelly, Wall, SD
Steve Waters, Carter, SD

Mary Nagel, Gettysburg, was elected as Vice-Chair of the SDFB Women’s Committee. 

Cory and Alicia Fortune, Quinn, are the new chairs of the SDFB Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee.  The YF&R program provides Farm Bureau members ages 17-35 with educational programs and other opportunities to develop and improve leadership skills. 

Four county Farm Bureaus received the Tom McNenny award as outstanding Farm Bureaus.  Counties receiving recognition are:

·         Pennington/Jackson – Kevin Kruse, President
Clark – Roger Hurlbert, President
Perkins – Travis Gebhart, President
Hutchinson – Marc Reiners, President

 Approximately 200 people attended the Farm Bureau convention November 17-18 in Spearfish.
