SD Farm Bureau Youth Camp Shares Endurance Skills(Huron, SD) -- “Farm Bureau Camp is a place for teens to find new friends from around the state and pick up skills that will help them think independently, and become better leaders and citizens in their school and community,” said Cindy Foster, SD Farm Bureau (SDFB) camp director, “Our goal is to share modern day endurance skills which will help them deal with the political scene, environmental issues, and interpersonal relationships.” Camp, which will be held at Thunderstik Lodge near Chamberlain, SD on June 5-6-7, is a program of the South Dakota Farm Bureau. The objective of Camp is to help teens become better students and citizens through personal responsibility, independent thinking, involvement, and teamwork. The theme of the three-day camp is “Endurance Measures Shared Here.” Campers will be involved in making decisions on behalf of a congressperson, protecting our environment, improving their communications skills, and many other hands-on activities. Camp is open to all high school students currently in grades 9 through 11. Campers are sponsored all or in part by county Farm Bureaus. Parents do not need to be Farm Bureau members for their children to participate. For additional information about the FB Camp, speakers, and registrations go to the Farm Bureau web site at http://sdfb.fb.org/ or call Julie at 605-353-8052.
