Farm Bureau Members Chosen for Leadership Program Five South Dakota Farm Bureau members have been selected to participate in the Farm Bureau Leadership Experience. Those selected are: Kathy Guthmiller, Menno; Ken Hofer, Hitchcock; Jerry Runia, Estelline; Jason Reed, Faith; and JT Moon, Creighton. The program is designed to help emerging Farm Bureau leaders broaden their perspective on the future of agriculture, develop their leadership skills, and build a network of Farm Bureau leaders. Participants are scheduled to attend three different training sessions. The first is next week (June 25-29) in Des Moines, Iowa, and will include Farm Bureau members from Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Utah, and New Mexico. The South Dakota participants will have a summer session on August 7 at the Farm Bureau Center in Huron. The leadership class will conclude in Washington, D.C., September 10-13. “South Dakota Farm Bureau is committed to providing additional opportunities for our members to develop and expand leadership skills,” noted SDFB President Scott VanderWal. “We want to equip farmers and ranchers to address the issues, challenges and opportunities facing agriculture today and tomorrow.” - 30 -
