Eisenbraun Receives "Friend of Young Farmers & Ranchers" Award

Larry Eisenbraun from Wall was named the “Richard Kjerstad Friend of the YF&R” at the recent South Dakota Farm Bureau convention in Pierre.  The honor is given in recognition of a Farm Bureau member who supports and encourages those involved in the Young Farmers and Ranchers program.  Recipients are noted for the example they set for the YF&R Committee.

Eisenbraun has served as Vice-President of the Pennington County Farm Bureau, as director of the West River Electric Association, and as a member of the Board of Supervisors for East Pennington Conservation District

The “Friend of the YF&R Award” was initiated in honor of long-time SD Farm Bureau President Richard Kjerstad.  The award is presented to an individual or family that has shown outstanding support for the Young Farmers and Ranchers program.  Previous recipients are Patty Kjerstad, Wall; John & Joyce Haak, Winfred; and Richard and Agnes Ekstrum, Kimball.

The Young Farmers & Ranchers (YF&R) program provides an opportunity for Farm Bureau members ages 18-35 to meet other young farmer and ranchers from across the state and nation.  The YF&R committee offers educational programs and other opportunities to develop and improve leadership skills.  The YF&R also sponsors several state and national contests.
